I had the chance to borrow a friends 10.9 rig with my long board and try it against a mate on his formula board with 10.5,with the wind light and onshore it was good accept the sea was abit lumpy.First off the rig was very heavy and not enough to get the heavier longboard going, only making 14 kts while the formula planed away at 20 kts.All in all a very uncomfortable trip to the Ferry and when I dropped the rig it was very difficult to uphaul!!!!
Back at the beach I had ago with the formula board and decided I don't think it's for me as it was very difficult to bear off !!!!
